Once, way back when, I was sent to a psychiatrist for evaluation of anxiety attacks. The psychiatrist asked me about meds (general practitioner had me on OTC 12 hour sinus meds daily for over a month), laughed and said: “Stop taking the sinus meds. Then find yourself an allergist.”
Problem solved.

The simple fact that you feel bad means there’s hope for you yet. ;-)

Seriously: People make mistakes. If you treated him fairly and no harm done you probably learnt something from this experience. Always try to good at the positive side, eventhough it’s not always easy.

You might be a bit more gracious since your problem was discovered and treated regardless of who figured it out. Perhaps it was luck that your mother just so happened to discover the root of the problem. I don’t know what your specific condition was but I can safely say some people are much less fortunate than you. You are obviously alive and well enough to be on the computer.

I’m sorry that whatever it was happened to you and that you endured whatever discomforts you experienced. But it really pisses me off when people blame doctors for not knowing every single thing there is to know. Yes, even three human beings can sometimes collectively lack all the information known to man. Shocking, I know.

And no, lawyers don’t have ZERO medical training. They have extensive knowledge about any drugs, equipment, treatments, or actions that can be profited from in a court of law.

I hope you don’t forget your bitter remarks if you are ever in need of emergency medical treatment so you can contact the nearest attorney or virtual layperson to save your life.

Annoying. Post surg I developed a condition due to surgery. It was obvious, however after seeing 3 physicans including a highly sought out specialist, my mother correctly diagnosed it. A nurse who hasnt practiced in 30 years and has never actually seen the condition in clinical practice. I googled it and looked at the pictures; it was clear as day what it was. If a lawyer with ZERO medical training can figure out a seemingly obvious VISIBLE condition and three physicans can not, someone should not be practicing. My mother’s diagnosis was confirmed with lab testing. Have the qualifications for medicine declined to a point that a virtual layperson can make seemingly obvious diagnosis?
