The other day a guy comes in after a pretty serious electrical shock. He was working on a commercial lighting installation and got zapped by a pretty high voltage. He fell off his ladder and injured himself in the fall as well.

Anyway, he was very lucky to not be horribly injured or killed so I asked him how it happened. He then told me that a year before when he was working on the same site, working on the SAME LIGHT ARRAY, he got shocked in the same way! He even told me he was doing the same thing that caused him to be shocked that first time! I asked why in the Hell would he do that and he simply shrugged and said. “Well, I figured they fixed it after the first time since you know, lightning never strikes twice in the same spot!”

Superstition FAIL.

Remember that Jim Carrey character when he was on Living Color? Well, I almost did it for real over the weekend. Oil caught fire spontaneously in the pan and then when put it in the sink, a tiny amount of water dripped into it and it exploded!
Burned my face, arms, and hands. Scorched the ceiling and toasted the floor. Still, coulda been ALOT worse so I am thankful for that. Definitely getting a fire extinguisher!

Gee,  I can’t say I really feel that much sympathy for you.  You idiotically decided to apply capsaicin cream to your face – God knows why.  Sorry to say there is really not much you can do now except clean it with cool soapy water and wait for the burning feeling it to wear off.   The thing that really irked me is that you decided that I did not render appropriate medical care  and you reported me to the state medical board.   You claimed that I “should have done more”. Well, I think telling you the straight deal and giving you some Tylenol with Codeine for the pain was more than enough. Luckily for me, the state medical board agrees and basically told you to go pound sand and not be such an idiot in the future.   I have documentation to prove it so put that in your pipe and smoke it.
